If you wish to write to me personally, I am at
Well, it is just myself right now and hence, this is about me.
I have always enjoyed my own company and as I grow older, it has become difficult to find time to invest in myself. To do things I love, in the ways I like. And when I do manage, I worry to come off as selfish or depressed or a recluse. It only gets worse from here considering the lack of options for solo activities and events. India is no country for solo women - be it their safety or the idea of an unmarried woman in her late 20's. Most importantly, in today's world with easy access to both the good and bad, most people have forgotten to look within themselves. Forgotten to love themselves.
That's the thought behind starting Art of Solo. It is a forum to promote self-awareness about your heart, mind, body and soul. To encourage and help you do things alone. Mind you, you do not have to be single for this. Solo here, stands for self.
A little about myself - my name is Mousumi Boro and as I write this, I am 24 years old. After graduating from one of the IITs, I have been working a 9-to-5 job now. By qualifications, I am an engineer but my interest lies in reading, travelling and the likes, you know. My spirit animal is a cat. And if I have to describe myself in one line, probably these lyrics of LDR's Ride would suit me best:
"My mother told me I had a chameleon soul, no moral compass pointing due north, no fixed personality; just an inner indecisiveness that was as wide and as wavering as the ocean..."
I am not an expert in anything. And as I write these blogs, I am learning with you. So let's master the art of self love and positivity together!
